Roots Expert Spotlight: Meet Ajeet of Unique Technique
At Little Seeds, community care means honoring the practitioners who support families through some of life’s most transformative seasons. Our Roots Expert Spotlight series is a space to introduce you to the people we trust—so you can get to know not just what they do, but why they do it.
Today, we’re excited to introduce Ajeet, whose work centers on restoring balance, honoring physiological birth, and supporting deep postpartum recovery.
A Little About Ajeet and Her Work
Ajeet is a Certified Massage Therapist (CMT) and perinatal specialist, certified in the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy. While many people initially find her work for its fertility-supporting benefits, her offerings extend far beyond conception.
From her studio in Lafayette, Ajeet provides full-spectrum doula services, supporting families across pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with care that blends traditional wisdom and modern understanding.
Her work is grounded in the belief that the body holds deep intelligence—and that with the right support, it knows how to heal, birth, and recover.
What Drew Her to Birth and Family Work
Ajeet’s path into this work began early. She had the unique experience of witnessing all four of her younger siblings born at home with a midwife. Growing up in Sonoma County, home birth was so normalized that she didn’t initially realize how little the broader medical system supports physiological birth.
It wasn’t until she navigated the system herself that this gap became clear. Today, Ajeet is passionate about helping clients achieve their best birth—whether in a hospital or birth center. Having navigated the medical system twice for her own births without “giving in” to it, she brings deep confidence in her clients’ ability to do the same.
For Ajeet, empowered birth comes down to advocacy, understanding the system, and a profound trust in one’s own body.
Family Life in This Season
Ajeet is currently parenting two children, now eleven and fourteen, who are healthy, independent, and thriving.
While she cherishes memories from the early years of attachment parenting, this stage of life feels less physically demanding. Looking back, she sees how the deep investment of time and presence in those early years laid the foundation for the secure, well-adjusted children she has today.
What Parents Need More Support Around
One area Ajeet feels is deeply underserved is true postpartum recovery.
Postpartum, she believes, should be a time that celebrates the parents as much as the baby. Her work focuses on helping families slow down and recover through both physical care and ritual. This includes abdominal massage, yoni steaming, babywearing support, and traditional practices like the bone closing ceremony, which offers a sense of completion and grounding as parents transition into their next chapter.
A Piece of Advice for New or Expecting Parents
Ajeet encourages parents to invest in at least one Arvigo treatment, particularly during the first year postpartum.
This work teaches a powerful self-care ritual that helps prevent prolapse and uterine misalignment, while offering relief from common concerns such as headaches, constipation, back pain, and incontinence. Though especially vital postpartum, these treatments can support women at any stage of life.
A Core Belief She Shares With Families
One of Ajeet’s guiding truths is simple but profound:
What is good for you is not mutually exclusive with what is good for your baby.
Long-term physical and emotional well-being is not a luxury—it’s what allows parents to show up with more capacity, presence, and resilience over time.
The Role of Community in Parenthood
Ajeet is deeply aligned with Little Seeds’ mission to rebuild the village that modern parents so often lack.
She reminds families that they do not have to do this alone—there are many skilled, compassionate people within the Little Seeds community offering support. In fact, she relies on this community herself. To her, Little Seeds is actively filling a vital gap in care for today’s parents.
